Exeter Chiefs’ duo sign contract extensions
World in Motion’s, Mitch Lees and Harry Williams have both signed contract extensions with Aviva Premiership Champions Exeter Chiefs.
Mitch Lees has signed a new three-year deal keeping him at Sandy Park until 2021. Recruited from then Championship outfit London Welsh in 2014, Sydney-born Lees has thrived in the Chiefs environment, establishing himself as one of the club’s frontline forwards in recent seasons.
Lees, on his contract renewal said: “To commit your long-term future to a club is always nice. The club took a chance on me and I feel year on year I’m improving and can prove myself to the club.”
Director of Rugby Rob Baxter said “I’ve no doubt, Mitch will be a key player for us moving forward and that he will help drive standards onwards and upwards here at the club.”
Meanwhile, Prop, Harry Williams has signed a new 2 year deal with the Chiefs after had a remarkable year, having gone from playing in the Championship to becoming a regular participant in Eddie Jones’s England set-up.
“Harry has come up from the Championship and worked very hard,” added Baxter. “Quite deservedly, because he’s been prepared to work very hard and been successful, he’s moved into the England EPS squad. Those are the kind of things we love to see amongst our players.”
